Car Accident Checklist: Are You Prepared?
by: Amy Metz

I’ve got a confession to make. I’ve been in a car accident before. Granted, it wasn’t my fault at all (both my opinion and the insurance company’s opinion). However, once it happened, I realized that I should have been better prepared for the car accident the day it happened. Since I realized this, I decided to make a checklist for things to have in case of a car accident. Here we go

1) Insurance Papers. Make sure you have your insurance papers ready to give to the other party in case they need to see them. These can also come in handy to give to the Police if they arrive on the scene of the accident. In some states, having car insurance is mandatory for the operation of a motor vehicle and you can be fined if you don’t have any insurance. Make sure you insurance paperwork is in order before finding out that it is necessary to have.

2) Pen and paper. Guess what? Most people (myself included until recently) don’t carry around the necessary equipment in order to write down the other party’s information for insurance claim purposes. Make sure you buy some pens that actually have ink in them and some decent paper in order to write the driver’s information. Stow these handy items in your glove box and you’ll be ready.

3) Digital camera or cell phone camera. This can come in quite handy in the case of a disagreement of facts over what happened at an accident. After the accident happens, taking a few snap shots of both your vehicle and the other driver’s vehicle can be great evidence if there is a trial or if either insurance agency tries to deny responsibility. A lot of the newest cell phones come equipped with cameras inside of them that can take and store a huge amount of digital camera photos. Use your cell phone camera to take some on the scene snap shots.

There are a whole bunch of other important tips to keep in mind that make these look like the tip of the iceberg. Learn them all and you’ll be prepared.

Finding A Car Accident Lawyer
by: Morgan Hamilton

Do you have a car? I’ll bet you do because most Americans love their cars. What would you do if you were driving your car and were in a serious accident that caused extensive damage? Well, based on who is at fault, the insurance companies will more or less be able to replace the car. That’s what you’re paying the big money for.

But what happens now to hear the cause of that accident? Or worse, been affected by the accident physically and emotionally? If this is the case then there’s not a whole lot that your insurance company will do for you. But based on the nature and status of the case, a car accident lawyer will be able to help you.

Like criminal lawyers specialize in crime, civil lawyers specialize in civic issues and litigation lawyers specialize in litigation, the car accident lawyer is a new breed of lawyer who can help you set the accident right. This is evident when the other motorist is the at fault party ought has poor or no insurance. At such instances, you will need to use the services of a car accident lawyer, who can not only get you adequate money and respite, but will guide you through the mountains of information that make up these situations.

I’ll give you an example of something that happened to a family member of my. He was happily driving along when out of the blue, a speeding car jumped the signal and crashed into him. My friend suffered not just concussions and broken ribs, but also had his car nearly totaled. To make things worse, the other driver was just a young kid didn’t have a drivers license or automobile insurance. So, he decided to use the services of a car accident lawyer.

This car accident lawyer was good. He actually was able to get my relative some monetary relay, but was also able to negotiate with his insurance company so they would not raise his premiums, seeing as it wasn’t his fault to begin with. Since then, my obviously elated relative has been going around recommending the services of the car accident lawyer to every one he knows. That’s how I heard about the guy and if I needed him I would use him.

But remember, like most other legal issues, using the services of a car accident lawyer can prove to be a double edged sword. If you are victorious and that’s fantastic. But if you happen to lose your particular case, remember that you will be on the hook for financial payments rather than the one receiving compensation. So evaluate your chances before you whip out the phone book and ask for a car accident lawyer.

Most Common Causes Of Car Accidents
by: Daniel Richards

The number of car accidents has been increasing rapidly since the automobile was first invented. Accidents happen anywhere, at any time of the day, and they are usually unexpected. You don’t know accidents are coming. Even if you don’t have a car, you still might be involved in a car accident.

Although car accidents have been increasing, it is surprising to find out that the average accident has been declining due to the policies that the government has implemented. The percentage of fatal accidents has lowered to 50%. This was aided by the car manufacturers, who have invented and added securities like airbags. The use of airbags has been a great help in cases of accidents.

Did you know that drinking while driving is one of the major causes of accidents? It is not surprising to see in the papers and television that drunk driver has been killed on the road. It happens almost everywhere, at any given time. If a driver is drunk, his mind is not working properly. He does not pay attention to the road. Drunk drivers love to drive a car at high speed. Some will even race on the road, endangering other drivers.

Another common cause of accidents is younger-aged drivers. Some young drivers tend to drive wildly on the streets with their friends. Some drive without a license and without insurance. A minor can get a student’s license but they should be accompanied by an elder who is an experienced driver. Minors are not allowed to drive because they are not aware and familiar with the signs and rules that are important in driving. Getting a license will train them to drive safely by following the rules.

If your car is not maintained properly, which includes the wheels and the brakes, you can be prone to accidents. You will never know when your engine or brakes will fail you. So before that happens, you must carefully check if they are running properly by having your car serviced at regular intervals.

Most accidents happen at nighttime. This is caused by poor lighting and impaired visibility. Having good headlights and indicators are very important. You are not safe if your lights are broken. A car ahead may not notice you, especially on a hard dark road. Lights serve as indicators and signals so that you can make your car visible even in the dark.

Some drivers drive without full attention. Stress can cause accidents because the driver may not focus on the road; rather he is thinking of his personal problems. Talking on a cell phone while driving or fiddling with the stereo are all contributing factors to accidents.

There may be many causes of car accidents and these are just the most common causes. What is important is that you should be disciplined while driving and ensure your car is road worthy.

Having the Right Amount of Auto Insurance Coverage
By: Peter Crump

Maybe you have auto insurance coverage now but do you ever wonder if it’s enough if you are unfortunate enough to get into a car accident? Some people carry a combination of auto insurance coverages because carrying too little coverage can cause you to be paying for the rest of your life under certain circumstances. Of course everyone has to have basic liability coverage, which is usually worth up to $50,000.00 for any single personal injury.

This goes as high as $100,000.00 for everyone involved and even though it might seem like a lot, this is not a lot of money given a nasty accident where medical bills, lost wages, and compensation for pain and suffering is involved.

With auto insurance the more coverage you purchase the cheaper it gets. This means that your cost goes up a little on your auto insurance coverage while your protection goes up proportionately more. This will pay off big time in the case of an auto accident and insurance settlement. It is the safety umbrella that you will need to avoid worry and stress from a stressful situation to begin with.

There are accidents that are serious enough to cost as high as a million dollars or more in a settlement, depending on the circumstances. Depending on your auto accident and insurance settlement, without the proper auto insurance coverage you could end up in a situation where you will be paying out money for the rest of your life.

If you can’t afford to get the full package on auto insurance coverage, it is better to take out $300,00.00 to $500,000.00 in personal injury liability and go a little less on property damage. Insurance coverage for property damage from an accident won’t be as expensive as personal injury can be. So when you’re purchasing coverage for your auto, keep in mind the extra money you pay now could pay off big time in the future.

Another auto insurance coverage that you will find extremely important is uninsured and under insured policies. This type of coverage will protect you from those that are driving illegally without auto accident and insurance settlement insurance. This is extremely important if an insurance settlement is paid out.

It is like buying more protection for yourself, as the other driver that hits you without coverage will have nothing to help you over your accident. Even though it may seem as if you are paying for the mistakes of another, it is worth it in the end.

Make sure you get enough auto insurance coverage, don’t skimp.

What to Look For In an Auto Body Repair Shop

It’s unfortunate but every day of the week all around the world auto accidents occur and they do occur few are prepared for the costly repairs that result. To make sure that you are getting quality repairs for the best price here’s what to look for in an auto body repair shop.

Selecting the right auto body repair shop will save you a lot of stress and money and you’ll know that you’ll get a decent repair. The first thing you need to do is have a look around the auto body repair shop. You might only be able to sneak a glance but that can tell you an awful lot as to whether you want to hire them.

Is the shop well lit? Is it nice and clean? Does the equipment look modern and well maintained? Up to date equipment means you are getting the best in repairs.

If they will allow you to take a tour of their shop it’s nice to browse around and talk to staff. Don’t be surprised if they deny your request because due to safety precautions. However some also allow for short tours while no jobs are in progress.

While you are in there take a quick scan of the area and see if there are signs of plaques that indicate special training staff has undergone or safety awards that have been won. These are often displayed out in the office where they are visible to customers.

Training and qualifications are really important when it comes to doing high quality auto body repairs. If the team knows what they are doing your repair will look just like new and no one will know there was even a repair.

Windows may need to be replaced, parts such as lighting, fenders, grill, or doors may be damaged and either need to be repaired or fixed, and chances are you are going to need some painting.

When you receive your vehicle back inspect the paint for small paint bubbles that are still there after the work is completed and set. You should also check the glass to make sure it is secure and doesn’t, shake, rattle, or leak.

Before you turn your car over for repairs you will want to know their policy if you are not happy with the work. Will they fix it for no charge or will there be additional fees. How long is the warranty for? How long will it take for the repairs to be completed?

When you pick up your car it is important to take some time to exam all the work that has been done and if you spot anything that does not appear to be right mention it immediately. If you notice nothing at the shop but spot something when you get home then it is important to notify them as soon as possible.

Now that you know what to look for in an auto body repair shop there’s a good chance that your vehicle repairs will be good as new and nobody will ever know that your car was in an accident.

How to Prevent Car Accidents
By: Wolfgang Jaegel

Car accident, otherwise known as car crash, auto accidents, road accidents, or car wrecks, is a condition in which one vehicle collides with another vehicle or some object in the road, thereby resulting either in injury of a person or the damage of a property. Sometimes, road as well as bad weather or environmental conditions also lead to car accidents. It is estimated that about two million people die of car accidents across the world per year.

Al though, in recent years, several innovative campaigns have been arranged to avoid car accidents, still car crashes occur frequently. Mostly, car accidents occur due to rash and careless driving. Road accidents also happen sometimes due to disorderliness and lack of patience. Further, car accidents are common during bad weather and winter season. Discussed further in this article are some of the effective tips that help you prevent car accidents to a large extent.

First step in order to avoid car accidents is to follow traffic rules and regulations. Another important thing that should be considered is to put on seat belt while driving. Wearing seat belt would be annoying for many people. But, this is highly vital, as wearing seat belt would reduce the chances of road accidents. Not only drivers, passengers including adults and kids are also recommended to put on seat belt. In some nations, it has been even made mandatory to wear seat belt.

Further, one of the best ways to avoid car accidents is to be a defensive driver. You may be a cautious driver, but it is not necessary that you would be able to overcome a reckless driving. But, being a defensive driver, you could foresee probable road crashes. Also, a great way to avoid road accidents is via being courteous. Being courteous makes you more cautious and intends you to not race against other vehicles.

According of records, one of the prime causes for car crashes is because of drunk driving, which in turn is a condition in which a driver operate a car or vehicle while being under the influence of drugs or alcohol that may lead to mental as well as motor skills imparity. Many of the fatal accidents are because of drunk driving. But, drunk driving is completely preventable.

All you have to do in order to avoid road crashes as a result of drunk driving is to refrain from taking any kind of harmful drugs or alcohol. You can also minimize car accidents via maintaining a constant speed as well as through leaving a safe distance between your vehicle and other vehicles. Also, a useful tip to avoid road accidents is by adjusting mirrors properly and via checking the side as well as rear mirrors at least in every 15 seconds.

Intersections are considered a prime cause for many road accidents. Hence, special care must be taken when proceeding through intersections by looking left, then right, and then again left side in order to ensure that the area is absolutely clear. Apart from these, have a clear idea on the road conditions. This would be highly beneficial when you drive during rainy or winter season. Also, keep your car’s lights on when driving at dusk and dawn and during rainy seasons. Other useful tips that help you avoid road accidents are:

- Avoid cell phone when driving
- Check your car in regular intervals, ie constantly monitor its tires, brakes, lights, and mirrors
- Have a clear idea regarding the limitations of your car
- Keep your vehicle in good working condition
- Always keep your vehicle neat and tidy
- As far as possible, avoid driving during night
- In addition to avoiding alcohol and other dangerous drinks, it would be better to avoid taking some food items while driving such as coffee, hot soups, barbequed dishes, soft drinks, and chocolates

Above all, driving a quality car could help minimize road accidents to an extent!

Choosing The Right Auto Insurance
By: Dave Davies

In nearly every state, there is a law on getting insurance for your vehicle. If you’re looking for auto insurance, do you know what the minimal regulations are? Also, you should know that the legal minimum required coverage could not be enough. If your car is ever stolen or damaged, by your fault or someone else’s, if you are under insured, you could be paying out a lot more to replace or repair your car, or for personal injuries.

Americans pay out as much as $900 a year on auto insurance, and if you have a newer, more expensive model of car, you’d be paying a lot more. Still, many people might find themselves under-insured, or even over-insured in the wrong places. How can you figure out how much coverage you actually need?

This might seem complicated, but there are really only a handful of specific types of coverage that you might need. If you focus on the main parts of different auto insurance policies, you can be sure to get the right types of coverage. The next step after that is selecting the right amount to cover for your vehicle.

How Much Coverage Do You Need?

The variety of different auto insurance coverage options available are designed to fit into whatever you need, though most people find themselves under-insured, or with the wrong type of coverage. Every state has regulations on how much auto insurance you need, but these laws are often way lower than what you might actually need if you are ever in a serious auto accident.

You can also be over-insured. There are types of policies that might not be suitable for you and your situation. Obviously, you pay more for the more coverage you have. You’ll need to select the right type of insurance for you.

It always depends on your situation, but on average, between $100,000 and $250,000 is recommended for personal injury insurance. Make sure your policy will also cover you if you are not at fault, and if the other driver is under-insured. You should also consider how much coverage you’ll need with an older model car. If you own an older car, the insurance policy comprehensive coverage will cost a lot less.

Remember, your coverage is going to be different depending on the type of car you drive, as well as how often you drive, and your driving record. The more accidents you are involved in, obviously the more you’ll pay out in insurance. You’ll also pay more for a car that is targeted and stolen more often, like sports cars or SUVs. The less you drive, a clean driving record, and a less expensive car will save hundreds of dollars on insurance.

The Different Auto Insurance Coverage Types

There are several types of options when it comes to auto insurance coverage. While you might need more in one area, or less in another area, you should get at least the minimum required by the state in each area as required, and then increase it for what you’ll need more of.

Liability insurance coverage is the basic type of insurance you’ll find available. It covers you and your property if you were at fault in an auto accident. In some cases this includes all the legal costs, though you should double-check the policy to make sure this is included as well. This might also fall over collision coverage, this is the case that you run into an object and not another car. This type of insurance will cover that. Some don’t. Always double-check your insurance policy so you know what is included.

This type of policy doesn’t cover if the other person is at fault, however. So you’ll probably also need under-insured motorist coverage. This type of coverage will help you out if the other party is not covered in insurance, or is under-insured and their policy has a limit on how much they will pay out. This will help in case you get in an accident, and the medical bills or damages outweigh the policy by the under-insured motorist.

Comprehensive coverage is often required if your car is financed, via the bank or the car company. Comprehensive insurance coverage pays out on a variety of circumstances, such as theft, arson, natural disasters or other sorts of vandalism. Under this coverage, you’ll have a deductible. A deductible is how much you will pay, out of pocket, to cover the costs of damage or replacement, before the insurance company will start paying out. If the deductible is high, the monthly rate, or premium you pay, will be lower.

You should also seriously look at personal injury protection. So many people skimp out on this one, thinking they won’t need so much, or assume someone else who is in an auto accident will cover the costs. You’ll want personal injury protection auto insurance because this covers medical costs no matter who was at fault, and often enough if there was no third party. You’ll also want to make sure who is covered by the personal injury protection policy, because it might just cover you and your family you’ve registered, and not anyone else who might happen to have been riding with you in your car.

If you own a classic car, there is special insurance just for your car. This covers car models older than 25 years and has different variables depending on what you need. This is separate from other types of policies so you’ll have to ask for this type of coverage specifically. Check the policy, you might be limited on how many miles you can drive your car every year to be covered.

With the number of different policies out there, you should consider talking to an auto insurance broker. A broker could let you know exactly how much coverage you might need for you and your family. One should also be able to help you pick policies out from different insurance companies. An auto insurance broker will not cost you any more money, but you’ll get a better idea of what coverage you need, and a wider variety of options to choose from.

Teenage Driver Accidents
By: Nick Johnson

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), teenage driver accidents are so common that they are now considered to be the leading cause of death among teenagers (boys and girls between the ages of 15 and 19). In addition, males and females in this age bracket are responsible for 14 percent of all car accident-related fatalities, even though they only make up about seven percent of the driving population. Despite popular thought, boys are no more likely to crash or become involved in car accidents than girls.

Why are teenage driver accidents so common, and why are teenagers, more than older drivers, at particular risk for crashing and causing auto accidents, killing themselves or their passengers or other innocent victims? It’s because they’re risk takers, says Rose McMurray, the NHTSA associate administrator for traffic safety programs. They’re new drivers, inexperienced drivers, distracted and unfocused drivers, more aggressive drivers, hormonal drivers, and risk-taking drivers who can often assume they’re “invincible” or “immortal.” Most teen drivers involved in car crashes were either drinking (illegally), speeding, or both.

Of course, all teenagers (and everybody else, for that matter) must pass both a written and practical driving test before they can get their license to drive on their own, but the truth of the matter is that teenagers are often not experienced with many everyday driving situations. Such as traffic jams, high-traffic situations, highway driving, certain weather conditions (heavy rain, heavy snow, icy roads) before getting licensed, and are therefore unprepared for what to do and unsure how to respond when those situations do arrive in their early driving days, weeks, months, and even years.

Some experts believe that drivers education programs are somewhat at fault for the high incidence of teenage driver accidents. These programs tend to take the place of teens receiving personal, one-on-one training from a parent or other experienced, older adult who knows the teen, and the programs also tend to focus on teaching teens only the basics of road rules, how to drive, and what specifically they need to do to pass the driving test.

As a result, parents are under the mistaken impression that their teens come away from the driving program fully equipped and prepared to handle any and all driving situations. However, this is often not the case; in fact, many newly licensed teenage drivers are putting themselves, their passengers, and other drivers at huge risk simply by driving.

It’s even more upsetting to think that even if a teenager (whether it’s you, your daughter or son, or someone else you know) is a proven responsible driver, they could still suffer major injuries or even death just by getting into a car with an irresponsible or inexperienced teen driver. In fact, the more passengers a teenage driver has, the more likely it is for the driver to get into an accident.

Parents of teenagers who died in teenage driver accidents throughout the U.S. are working to find ways to keep teenagers safe while driving. State driving laws and requirements and driver testing laws have changed, graduated drivers licensing programs have been incorporated, and educational programs informing teens and their parents about the reality of teenage driver accidents and their associated injuries and fatalities are increasing in number.

Of course, teenage driver accidents still happen, and many families involved in car crashes or other auto accidents seek compensation or litigation. You may require the services of a law firm specializing in car accidents if you’re a teenager and were recently responsible for a car crash or other auto accident that may have injured or killed others involved, if you’re the parent, guardian, or close relative of a teenager either responsible for the crash or a victim of the crash, or if you were otherwise involved in the auto accident caused by a teenager (whether you were a passenger or in the other car).

Our law firm is a reputable and established company that specializes in all types of auto accidents, teenage driver accidents included. If you’re looking for the services of a lawyer because of a car crash or other auto accident that was the fault of the teenager (whether you’re the teenager, the teenager’s parent, or someone else involved in the accident), then contact us today for more information or a consultation.

How To Make A Successful Car Accident Claim
by: Mumtaz Shah

If making a claim for compensation has diluted your thoughts over the years thanks to large corporate companies gone bankrupt. You can now broaden your horizons as that’s history and personal injury compensation has entered a new era.

A car accident is never the same, similar but never the same. So logically a car accident claim can never be the same. Accidents do on the other hand occur in the millions every year, however making a successful compensation claim is difficult to get right if you don’t make the right moves.

All Car Accidents Are Unique

There’s one thing you need to beware of and that is accident ‘management’ companies either attending the scene or hospital. Theses are salespeople who work on a commission basis. You always have the good and the bad ones. Your job would be to distinguish the good from the bad.

99% of the time, these people will want your injury claim. Even if it means by-passing the small print! Another thing to note is, never listen to previous case success stories. What happened in the last case can’t be guaranteed in your case. So don’t fall for the money, settlement time or success stories.

Tips To Make A Successful Car Accident Claim

Car accident injury claims are major players in the ‘personal injury litigation’ market. They are straightforward as liability is admitted and vital information is exchanged at the scene. Information such as driver and insurance details, where the accident took place, when and how. If the police attend the scene, both parties will be given a producer, which states that the accident did occur. Further from there it will be logged on the national database for any inquires.

Now For The Secrets…

A ‘quality’ accident solicitor will explain the procedures in ‘full’ and then ask if you have any questions. Don’t ever say NO! You could be falling into a trap.

Do ask these important questions such as…

* Will I get the ‘whole’ of my compensation? If yes… continue
* Will I need to pay a fee? If no… continue
* Do you recover costs from the other side (i.e. people at fault)? If yes… continue
* Would I need to pay anyone any money once my claim is settled? If no… proceed.

Passengers In A Car Accident

Passengers are innocent victims in a vehicle and can be from either, the fault or non-fault side. Passengers are not in-charge of the vehicle at hand. Therefore they can always make a successful compensation claim provided they have been to a hospital or visited a doctor.

A passenger can be in the form of, a husband, wife, child, cousin or a friend, at fault or not, they are entitled to claim compensation. They can make a claim against the people who have hit them whilst in the car.

Liability acceptance for an accident can cause confusion in itself. Do you think it was your fault?

Either way, you can still make a successful claim!

If on the other hand you are the driver and it is your fault, then you won’t have any success of making a claim, however, the passengers will.

Payment Factors

There are circumstances where compensation payments are reduced for a number of reasons. The most common ones are for not wearing a seat belt, which marginally reduces the payment by 25%. Another major factor is for drink driving. If a passenger knowledgably knew the driver was unfit to drive due to excess intoxication, a reduction will be made accordingly.

There are cases where the driver admits part liability on a proportion basis. Generally it’s 50/50, but it needs to be assessed by an investigator who will examine who’s at fault before concluding. There are even some cases that result to 80/20.

Decision Dilemmas

You DO NOT need to hold back thinking it was your friend’s or family’s car. They pay insurance premiums every year to ensure if anything happens, they’re covered and so are their passengers. You also need NOT WORRY if you were in a taxi, bus, train or any other form of public transport. You can still proceed with an accident compensation claim, as the drivers are insured, as is the taxi, train and bus driver. Companies pay thousands every year in insurance premiums to cover passengers for these unfortunate accidents and injuries.

On speaking to a quality car accident solicitor will you be able to eliminate doubts in your head about payments, fees and procedures!

Importance of Car Accident Insurance
by: Mark Dacanay

Car Accident Insurance companies as with any other insurance companies may deserve some of the bad reputation they are getting because they do look out for their own benefits like any other private companies in any industry. However, they do fulfill an important role especially for people who own a car. Car accident insurance protects you financially from future liabilities. They act as a safety blanket for your finances in case you get involved in a car accident. Car accident insurance is a contract between you and the insurance company; you pay the insurance company now, they pay for your car expenses in the future.

Car Accident Insurance coverage
There are various types of car accident insurance ranging from required to optional plans. But before you choose any type of car accident insurance, the first thing you should do is check the type of coverage the plan offers.

Here are the basic types of car accident insurance coverage:

• Liability Coverage – This is required to all car owners in most states. This provides compensation for injuries and property damage caused to others. This includes medical expenses, loss of wages and pain and suffering.

Remember, this covers the expenses of the other people involved and not yours. In addition, you have to be the one at fault for the insurance company to pay.

• Personal Injury Protection – This is optional. It does not matter who is at fault, this covers the medical expenses of both you and your passenger for injuries you sustained after a car accident.

• Collision – Also optional, it covers the repairs needed for your car after a car accident.

Car Accident Insurance Rate Factors
Car Accident insurance rates vary from each case. There are different factors that affect the rates for each person. Here is a list of some of the general factors that are used to determine car accident insurance rates:

• Age – According to statistics, drivers that are below 30 years old are more likely to be involved in a car accident than other age brackets. Therefore, car accident insurance rates for younger drivers are higher.

• Gender – Similar to age, statistics also show that men are more likely to be involved in a car accident than women. Therefore, men have higher car accident insurance rates than women.

• Type of Car – The more expensive the car is the higher the car accident insurance rate will be. Expensive car repairs are more expensive and it has the higher risk of being stolen.

• Location – Car accident insurance companies also consider your location as well. That is because the risk of car accidents increase in heavily populated areas.

• Driving Pattern – The more a car is driven, the higher the car accident insurance rate is.

What to do after a car accident?
Here is a guide of what you should do after a car accident:

• Call your insurance company as soon as possible. There may be a time limit on when you can inform the insurance company. Better be safe.

• Review the coverage given by your car accident insurance so that you know what to expect.

• Report the accident and get a copy of the police report.

• See a doctor and get yourself treated. Get a copy of your medical documents pertaining to your injuries.

• Do not release statements to insurance companies without a lawyer.

• Consult a personal injury lawyer to help you get the best out of car accident insurance companies.
